We are 20 year members of the Kitsap Home Builders Association, which is a part of the National Home Builders Association.
The two principles of Central Highland Homes, David Smith and Barry Keenan, formed Central Highland Homes to design, build and develop residential communities. "Central Highland Homes" is the DBA name for Central Highlands, Inc., the official name of the company. To date, the company has built and sold over 350 homes, with over 10 residential communities in Kitsap County.
Green Building & Developing
Our company is committed to building and developing in accordance with the most environmentally sound development, construction and waste management methods available. The Kitsap Home Builders Association has developed one of the most advanced green building and development programs in America, titled "Build a Better Kitsap". We have contributed to the creation of the second phase of "Build a Better Kitsap", a green land development program. The plat of Weaver Creek was the first land development project to follow the "green development program" and was featured by the National Green Building Conference on May 18, 2001 in Seattle for its pioneering efforts in following green development practices. We were presented awards by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners on April 21, 2003, Earth Day. One of our more recent projects, Ferncliff Village Phase I, met the Evergreen Sustainable Design Standards and LEED for Home Checklist, as well as included Energy Star appliances throughout. We strive to continue our history of green building practices in all future projects.
